CITY OF DELMAR REGULAR
CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Nov. 1, 2006
The Delmar City Council met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. at the Delmar City Council Chambers on November 3, 2006. Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following members present at roll call: Jebsen, Goodall, Eberhart. Simmons & Trenkamp attended at 6:45 p.m.
M/S Jebsen, Goodall to approve the consent agenda with the following additions of a report on the DNR Inspection results. Roll call vote: All ayes.
No sheriff available to give report. Landfill report with information of a motor replacement/repairs being required for the composter. Crime Stoppers with updates being made to the website.
Water Project updates that further testing of well #1 and flushing needs to be done. Closing of CDBG Grant is in process and will completed soon. M/S Goodall, Simmons to approve the contract amendment for MSA Professional Services. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Goodall, Trenkamp to approve the building permit for Gary Kleppe for a addition to his carport. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Goodall, Simmons to approve the building permit for Randy Budde for a garage. Roll call vote: All ayes.
Mayor Johnson asked for members of the council to assist in putting up the wooden trees by the Depot Museum prior to the Festival of Lights and if possible helping with the lights at the park.
Painting of the Fire Station was tabled at this time.
Elaina Edwards through the city clerk asked the council for permission to see if one of the historical societies in the area would be willing to take over the Orphan Train Research. Council advised the city clerk to let Edwards know that the transfer of the computer and records would have to be approved by the City Council prior to them leaving the city’s possession.
Wastewater superintendent Darrell Warren updated the city council on the Wastewater Inspection done by the DNR. Warren noted that a leak in one of the cells was found and repairs will be done as soon as the cell is drained. He also noted that DNR stated that there is too much groundwater going into the system and location of where the groundwater is coming from needs to be addressed.
Mayor Johnson called for a special meeting to be held on November 8, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. for the public hearing for housing rehab and for a budget workshop.
